Jane Mabry Spann passed away unexpectedly on December 1st, just six days short of her 72nd birthday. She is preceded in death by her daughter Julia Louise Spann and survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim Spann along with their son, Jay and his wife Paula, and their daughter Jaime and her husband Dave, along with five grandchildren (Cameron, Coryne, Mabry, Adair and McLaine).
The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate Jane's life on Saturday, December 6th at 1:00 at Seminole Community Church (5070 Orange Blvd, Sanford FL 32771 – www.seminolechurch.com). In lieu of flowers the family asks that remembrances be made in Jane’s name to any breast cancer charity or to Young Life. She was exceptionally loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Jane was born on December 7th, 1942 in Greenwood, SC. It was in high school there that she met the love of her life, Jim. They were married in 1965. They celebrated life with homes in South Carolina, Georgia, Alaska, Montana and since 1980, Florida. Jane worked as a speech therapist and teacher in her younger years and as loving mother and homemaker in her later years. She enjoyed traveling, reading and helping others, but the one thing she loved most was people – especially her family and friends.
