John Michael Litwinczuk, age 93 was born in New York City on July 20, 1923 to Anton and Anna Litwinczuk. He passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016 with his daughters by his side. He grew up in the Bronx and after high school he joined the Air Force. After he left the military, he went to work as an office manager for the Continental Can Company, first in Washington DC, then Van Wert, Ohio, Midland, Michigan and Buffalo, New York. He met his wife, Joyce Severns while living in Van Wert Ohio. They married in 1954 and had six daughters- Kim (Pope), Jill (Hogan), Kathy (Farrell), Mary (Tooles), Tracy (Kennison), and Kelly. John joked that they should have named all six girls with names starting with the letter “U” so when he needed to call out to any one of them, he could just say – “Hey You!”. John had eight grandchildren – Taylor and Darren Pope, Jonathan and Abigail Hogan, James (Trey) and Kathryn Tooles, Gianna and Jake Teneriello, as well as one step-grandson, Cameron Kennison. John was predeceased by his wife Joyce in 1993 and granddaughter Abigail in 2010 as well as his two brothers, Paul and Anthony. John was an avid golfer with several hole-in-ones to his credit. It was the love of golf that brought John and Joyce to Orlando Florida in 1980 after he retired. He also enjoyed woodworking and ballroom dancing. The family gratefully declines flowers. Please consider contributions to the Abigail Hogan Memorial Fund (Abigail was John's granddaughter, who passed away in 2010).
