On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Judith J. Folden, loving wife, Mother to two girls, friend to many, and a Meme to four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, passed away at the age of 91 at Cascade Heights where she had lived since 2016.
Judy affectionately known to some as JJ, was born on March 4, 1933 in Tazewell County Virginia to Lane and Clara Tabor. She married Howard Lane Folden after he returned from the Korean War on January 31,1953. Lane and Judy moved to Homestead Florida in 1954 and raised their two daughters, Lisa and Teresa. She loved visiting where she grew up so every year family vacations were to the mountains around Bluefield and Tazewell Virginia.
She was a member of Princeton Church of the Nazarene for many years and was well known and loved for her cooking. She would cook for potlucks, those who were sick, the grandkids, and have the entire extended family over for almost every holiday. Cooking and hospitality was definitely her gift.
After Homestead, Judy and Lane moved to Spring Hill, FL. Spring Hill was their home for 15 years but as they aged they needed to be closer to family so they moved to Orlando, eventually moving to an Assisted Living facility in Longwood, Florida where they could get the care and attention they needed.
She is survived by her two daughters Lisa (David) Outlaw and Teresa (Norman) Buckley; Four grandchildren, Christopher (Tiffiny) Outlaw, Amanda (Mykel) deVega, Hillary (Daniel) Moody, and Lawrence Buckley; and seven great grandchildren, Cameron, Colby, Kai, Maya, Anderson, Alden and Miles.
