Lawrence “Larry” J. Rauktis, 76, of Casselberry, FL, passed away September 8, 2020. Larry was born in Easton, PA to Lawrence and Margie Rauktis on March 25, 1944. Larry graduated from Notre Dame High School in Easton, attended and became class President at Churchman Business School and attended Moravian College. He also had an interest in local politics as a young man and became the president of the Young Republicans Club in Easton, PA as well as running for a few seats in local government.
Larry’s career passion was selling and starting his own business. He found his calling with an opportunity in Orlando, FL in the commercial roofing materials market as a sales representative. He founded his family rep business in 1986, Roofing Technologies, in Orlando, FL. He pioneered the way for many innovative roofing manufacturers to showcase their materials on some of the highest profile projects in Florida. He was a game changer in the commercial roofing industry and how materials were specified and sold.
Larry loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and always had his pups around him, usually at a minimum of three at a time. Larry also loved travelling to New York City, it was always his trip of choice. He loved to take in the “big city”, shopping, and all that it has to offer. He always loved his Saturday trips to Winter Park for the Farmer’s Market, and strolling Park Avenue. He regularly attended Mass on Sunday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathy, of 32 years. He is also survived by his sister Barbara, his three children, Todd (Michelle), Ted, and Lauren and his granddaughters; Rylee, Reese, and Ella, and also his mother-in-law Sue. He will be missed be all who loved him.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held in Larry’s honor on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 9:30am to 12:00pm with a Memorial Service at 11:00am at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte. The family invites you to a reception in his honor at Antonio’s in Maitland immediately following the service.
