Leon P. Dowling, 87 of Coral Gables, Florida, sadly departed this life on September 23, 2024. Raised in Miami, the son of a grocery store owner, Lonnie was a hard worker, avid boater and fisherman, and a strong family man and friend. Lonnie graduated in 1955 from Coral Gables High School and began work for Simmons Mattress. He traveled and lived in several cities across the US before following a job opportunity in 1968 in Altamonte Springs. Once relocated, Lonnie started a successful business, Dowtech Construction, building, owning, and maintaining many homes throughout the Greater Orlando area. Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie Sr. and Mary, son Lonnie III, and sister Marilyn. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann, his son Jimmy (Tiffany), four loved grandsons (Connor, Carson, Curtis, and Collin) and two sisters (Marlene and Linda). Lonnie had many friends (several dear, lifetime friends from school in Miami) and business associates.
