Lidia H. Grumberg passed away on March 10th in Orlando, Florida, at the age of ninety. Lidia was born in Colon, Panama, the daughter of Raul Herrera Guardia, an attorney and judge, and Hercilia Hill Dixon. She came to the United States in 1950 with her husband Armando, who worked for and would later be an executive for Coca-Cola. Lidia found time to work early in her marriage, but would then dedicate herself to raising three boys. After they were grown, she thoroughly enjoyed her work of managing a secretarial pool at the University of Miami Law School. Lidia and Armando eventually retired at the same time and stayed in their Coral Gables home. In 2003 Lidia lost Armando after 56 years of marriage, and in 2006 she sold their home and moved to Orlando to be near her son Jim and his wife Karen Moorefield. Lidia is survived by two other sons: Raul, wife Ulli and grandson Ryan of Montclair, VA; and son Richard, his wife Samara and their son Patrick, who reside in Townsville, Australia; as well as three sisters: Thelma Herrera and Vilma Salas, both of Panama City, Panama, and Hershey Grow of Mobile, Alabama; and several nephews and nieces. Service for Lidia will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Altamonte Springs, from 4 to 6 PM on Monday March 14th.
