Lori Chase Parr was born March 20, 1958 in the Winter Park Hospital (now AdventHealth Winter Park). She passed away on December 10, 2023 after a long battle with COPD leading to a sudden decline in her health. Lori is survived by her son Justin Chase Parr, her grandson Gavin Chase Parr, her brother Kevin Chase Parr, her sister Sherrye Chase Parr, her brother-in-law Louis Rotundo and her cousin, Kent Chase (in Elmhurst, IL). Lori was predeceased by her husband Bill Norton, her mother Shirleyann Chase Parr, her father Ralph Parr and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Lori grew up in Audubon Park, FL, Lawrenceville, GA and Casselberry, FL. Moving back to Casselberry from Georgia in 1970 with the family, she obtained her GED degree (an alternative to a high school diploma) and did some modeling with the Cassandra Agency.
Later, Lori participated for years in the family business, Chase Root Beer Company, with her mother, her husband Bill Norton, her uncle Richard Chase and her cousin, Kent Chase. Her uncle and cousin ran the office in Elmhurst, IL while the rest of the family attended festivals all over central Florida and even opened a satellite office in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Retiring early from the root beer business, Lori moved to Salt Springs, FL just outside the Ocala National Forest. Being that close to nature year-round made Salt Springs her favorite place – from the beautiful flowers and trees to the wildlife including black bears, wild turkeys, bald eagles, deer, river otters and more.
A few years after that, Lori moved to Winter Springs where she has resided for 14+ years. She always loved animals and was especially attached to her three cats - PossumBlossom, Daizy and Scarlett. Lori also had a green thumb when it came to raising orchids and staghorn ferns – and her pink powder puff bush was the largest in the neighborhood. She was an avid reader all her life and enjoyed sharing her opinions on everything she read! She also enjoyed music of all genres from jazz, folk and country music to contemporary R&D and rock music. She attended Rolling Stones concerts in Orlando and Tampa – and one of her favorite albums of all time was The Beatles The White Album (especially Rocky Raccoon, which her son remembers that she sang to him when he was very young).
The family extends their deep gratitude for the support and condolences during this difficult and very sad time. Although there will be no official service, we hope you will light a candle in Lori’s memory at the Baldwin-Fairchild web site.
