Louis Peter Hager, born on April 13, 1935 in Botschar, which was a German section of the former Yugoslavia, passed away on July 16, 2015 in Orlando, Florida. Louis was the third of four children to Ludwig and Lisa (Lung) Zahari.
The family was forced from their home during WWII and relocated to a small town in southern Germany, called Moos. Through cousins of his mother, Louis had the opportunity to come to America. He arrived in Michigan City, Indiana in 1950. There, Louis attended High School and went on to Purdue University where he studied Mechanical Engineering.
A few years later, Louis joined his family in College Point, New York and began working with Applied Devices, as an engineer for Civil Defense. Being an avid soccer player, he joined the town Soccer Club. It was at a Soccer Club dance in October of 1958 that Louis was introduced to his future wife, Inge, by his brothers John and Peter, and sister-in-law Lorraine. They were engaged by Christmas of that year. Soon after, their family grew to include three daughters, Irene, Christine and Karen.
In 1978 Applied Devices relocated to the Orlando area. This gave Louis an opportunity to transfer with the company and provide his family with a better life. A few years later he was hired by Lockheed Martin, with whom he remained employed until his retirement at the age of 62.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Peter and nephew Peter.
He leaves behind his wife, Inge, daughters Irene Fernandez and her husband Jose, Christine Hager, and Karen Birchmier and her husband Randy.
Grandsons Christopher Cellucci, Bobby Cellucci and his wife Holly, Andrew Cellucci, Randall Birchmier and granddaughter Kaitlin Birchmier.
Also surviving is his brother John and his wife Lorraine, sister Anne and her husband Richard Sherman, Niece Annette O’Shea her husband Rob and their sons Dylan and Patrick.
