Paul William Brown, died on Thursday, October 14, 2021, which was also his 67th birthday. He passed from complications due to Covid-19 pneumonia, while at Advent Hospital, Altamonte Springs. At the time of his death, Paul was living in Sanford, Fl., with his wife Carla and their two fur babies, Sammee and Rocky.
Paul was born in Orlando, Fl., and graduated from Evans High School, class of 1972. While at Evans, Paul was active in basketball and tennis. He was also a member of the Glee Club, because, as he always said, “he was so GLEEFUL”.
Following high school, he attended Valencia College, and received a degree in Marketing. He worked for UPS for 27 years. After retiring from UPS, he decided his entrepreneurial dreams needed to be his focus. His boyish sense of adventure led him through some rather eclectic career pursuits, including being a sales rep for a large toy company, timeshare sales, and merchant credit card services. By far, his greatest joy came from his 15 years as a Talent Agent. Through his agency, Main Event Entertainment, he was able to book celebrity impersonators into venues across the country. He absolutely loved the entertainment business, and he was good at it! He never looked at ANYTHING as a potential failure, his resilient and positive spirit only let him see the possibilities for success.
On almost any day of the week, you might find Paul at the Lake Mary Tennis Center, playing singles or doubles with his many tennis buddies. Between playing tennis 4-5 times a week and watching the Tennis Channel on TV, you might say it was a huge obsession of his. There was very little that would keep him from the courts, though his tennis buddies knew he would ALWAYS be on “Paul Brown Time” (late).
That was just his style. One of his greatest wishes, while in the hospital, was to be able to play tennis again.
Another of his passions was hitting a good yard sale! He was always on the prowl for a deal, or something he could re-sell for a lot more than what he paid for it. Frequently, his yard sale-ing would result in some incredibly weird or strange purchase, calling them his “love gifts” for his wife, Carla. These included such romantic things as a dead piranha mounted on wood and a bowl made from a cow’s testicle. Ever the “big kid at heart” he collected all kinds of toys – “just because”. To say he had a quirky sense of humor, would be the understatement of the century, and the man LOVED to talk!
He loved music, particularly from the 70s, including the Bee Gees, The Beatles, and ANYTHING from classic Motown R&B. His favorite female singers were Sade and Barbra Streisand.
His greatest accomplishment, and source of pride and joy, were his two beautiful, talented and accomplished daughters, Megan and Ashley. They were the lights of his life and his pride in them knew no limits. A little more than 15 months ago, Megan gave him his only grandbaby, Alexander. There was never enough time spent together, but Paul relished each and every moment with his precious boy. When he was born, Paul told Megan that he wanted Alexander to call him “Grand-Dude”. No one was surprised to hear that.

A little more than 17 years ago Paul met Carla on a dating website. They were from two completely different worlds, and yet somehow it worked. Shortly after they started dating, he took her to sing karaoke (something she had never done). His “go to” songs were usually anything by Barry White or Lou Rawls, then there was his big hit “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash. Whenever they went out to sing, someone would usually make a reference to Carla’s resemblance to Barbra Streisand, and it didn’t take him long to decide that THIS was his new focus and his new passion. Helping her to become a successful Barbra Streisand tribute artist was the thing he loved more than anything else he had ever done, often referring to himself as “Mr. Streisand”. The love and pride in his eyes when he watched her perform defied description. After 17 years together, they married on Friday, October 8, 2021, in the ICU, just 6 days before his passing.
Paul is survived by his loving wife and life partner, Carla DelVillaggio, daughters Megan Leigh Lobert, of Columbus, Ohio, and Ashley Michelle Dyroff, of Orlando, Fl., and his grandson, Alexander Espinoza, of Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, his sister Penny Kruszeski, of Deland, Fl., brother Patrick (Julie) Brown, Maitland, Fl., aunt Gayle (Paul) Bojerski, of Lake Mary, Fl., and brother-in-law Pasquale (Laura) DelVillaggio, of Austin, Tx, along with a nephew and step-niece. He was pre-deceased by his parents Paul, Sr. and Dorothy Burke Brown.
To all who knew him, Paul was a big, sweet, kind, fun-loving, friendly guy. He enjoyed a good (preferably really silly) joke and loved pranks. He would do anything for anyone, and was generous with his time, always willing to listen to a friend needing advice or just someone needing a caring, non-judgmental ear. He would literally talk to ANYONE. He could never resist stopping to take a picture of cute little dogs he encountered, so he could send them to his wife. He had an insatiable desire for enjoying life, always seeing the cup as half full. He woke up happy, every…single…day! He enjoyed the lighter moments in life, but most importantly, he loved so very deeply, fully, fiercely, and with his entire being. There will NEVER be another.
There will be a private Celebration of Life with family and close friends on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
