

Richard E. Johnston, 80, passed away on July 11, 2024, in Altamonte Springs, FL. Born on January 27, 1944, in Suffern, NY, Richard was a proud alumnus of Stetson University and served honorably in the Army for two years. He was a respected business owner, dedicating over 20 years to his venture, Fern Park Auto Parts, and another 20 years at Advance Auto Parts.
Richard was an avid sports lover, fisherman, golfer, car collector, and woodworker. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He is survived by his spouse, DaleLynn Johnston; daughter, Staci Hicks (Todd); son, Richard Edmund Johnston Jr; son, Dan Kolinski (Erica); and grandchildren, Matthew Kolinski, Richard Hicks, Tiffany Johnston, and Pela Kolinski. He also leaves behind his sisters, Nancy Lovell, Candy Townsend (Tommy), Kathy Bowen (Dan), Pam Hayman (Steve), Claire Young (Robbie), Mary Frances King, and Patricia Monroe (Gary Schultz); brother, Creston Johnston Jr (Sharon); as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Gertrude Earl; parents, Creston and Claire Johnston; and sons, Matt Kolinski and Justin Blake Johnston.
Services will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs, FL. A gathering of family and friends is scheduled from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by the funeral service from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A committal service will take place from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Oakdale Cemetery, 800 N Clara Ave, Deland, FL. Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home in Altamonte Springs, FL, is assisting the family
