

Willa Mae Boyd Behner, 97, of Apopka, Florida, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 27, 2022, at Advent Health Hospice Care of Central Florida. She was born on July 10, 1925, in Takoma Park, Maryland, to Charles and Odessa Boyd. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Bud” Behner, and her oldest daughter, JoAnne Frank.
Willa Mae worked the majority of her career at AdventHealth Orlando (formerly known as Florida Hospital South) as the Associate Director of Human Resources. She officially retired in 1990 but continued to work part time in Human Resources until she was 81 years old. She was honored with 45 years of service with Florida Hospital and 50 years of denominational service.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. It was important to her that her children attend a Seventh-Day Adventist school and in order to support this, she worked a second job as the assistant for Helping Hand for approximately 20 years.
She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, quilting, crocheting, baking, experiencing new things, and playing games. She was a 5th generation Adventist and she stayed faithful to that religion all her life.
She leaves behind 3 daughters, Carol (Kirk) Doolittle, Sharon (Mike) Conlon, Bobi (Bruce) Rogers. She was known as ‘DeeDee’ to her family, and is survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A service will be held at Florida Living SDA Church, 600 Edgehill Place, Apopka, FL 32703, on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Any flowers should be delivered on Friday, April 14th by 12:00 p.m.
