Addie was born on December 25, 1925, to Harry Comer Alford and Pearl Newman, in Jasper, Texas. She grew up in Jasper, Texas and graduated from Jasper High School in 1942. Addie had a love and passion for anything to do with music and was a very talented pianist. She would play the piano for church services when she was younger and continued to play for many different events, including the church services for Brookdale Assisted Living, where she was a resident at. Addie was very artistic and loved hand embroidery and painting. Everyone always enjoyed her company because she had a very outgoing personality and was social with everybody and never met a stranger. Addie loved her three boys, her grandchildren, and daughter-in-laws.
Addie was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Harvey Oliver, in 2002, and Joseph Garrett, in 2018; Son, Comer Oliver, in 1986; one brother, HC Alford, in 2022.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Oliver and wife, Joanne, of Amarillo, and Mark Oliver and wife, Pat, of Houston, Texas; Four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
