The family will receive guests on Sunday, October 27 from 2pm to 4pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday October 28 at 2pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories with Pastor Jerry Davey presiding; 6969 East Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79118. Ann was born on September 19th, 1942 in Shamrock, TX, to parents Will and Novell Smith. She graduated from Childress High School in Childress, TX. She moved to Amarillo, TX where she met her husband and love of her life, Johnny Stepp and they married August 6th, 1965. They moved to Gruver, TX in 1976 where they raised their four girls and enjoyed small town life before moving back to Amarillo in 1982.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world. She loved when she got to see them. Ann enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. They enjoyed meeting up with friends and telling stories by the campfire. Ann also loved telling her family all the stories of her travels. You could see the glint in her eye as she shared her love of travel.
She is preceded in death by her Parents Will and Novell Smith of Childress, TX; Her brothers, Earl Howard Smith and wife Francis Smith of Childress, TX; Clyde Smith and wife Joann Smith of Childress, TX. Her Daughter Kathy Ann Stepp, of Amarillo, TX.
Those left to cherish Ann’s memories are her husband of 54 years Johnny Clint Stepp, three daughters: Lisa Martin of Denton, TX; Cheryl Evans and husband Terrell Evans of Spearman, TX, Carla Pilcher and partner Dick Robinson of Amarillo, TX; her grandchildren; Brady Hart and wife Nikki Hart of Gruver, TX; Wade Evans and wife Mandy Evans of Webb City, MO; Leslyn Boyles and husband Brandon Boyles of Amarillo, TX; Megan Clem and husband Beau Clem of Mustang, OK; Zack Cross of Denton, TX; Will Cross of Rogers, AR; Jared Pilcher and fiancé Lindsey Brown of Amarillo, TX; and eight great grandchildren.
