Beatrice Romero Maes (lil grandma) was born May 21, 1933 and entered Heaven April 30, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with funeral service to follow. Beatrice was a loving caring woman. She enjoyed spending her time singing, dancing and listening to music. Her passion was taking care of her family; they were the most important thing to her. She married Joe Facundo Maes on June 11, 1951 in Tucumcari, NM, together they had 10 children. She was the rock of the family, always putting others needs before her own, never asking for anything in return. She had a heart of gold she was “Grandma” to all and will be missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a son Joe Ralph Maes.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Johnny Maes and wife Mary; Jerry Maes; Joe Eddie Maes; Gina Maes Ramos and husband Roland Albert Ramos; Ronald Maes and wife Jennifer; Mary Maes; Angeline Martinez and husband Tino; Paul Richard Maes; Paul Devante Maes and wife Lorrie. Very special granddaughter’s Lynette Lopez who helped care for her; and Ramona Maes who is a nurse and made sure grandma got the best medical care in her last days; daughter-in-law Mary who spent her Saturday’s with mom; two special loved ones Jesus Alvarez and Daniel Barrientes. Along with 33 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge her daughter Mary for caring for mom and being with her to the very end.
We would like to thank the staff at BSA hospital with a special thanks to Dr. Kishore Yalamanchili for taking great care of our mother during this difficult time.
We have peace in knowing mom is with her heavenly father and we will see her again one day.
