FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Pioneer Chapel, 5400 S Bell with Dr. Howard K. Batson of First Baptist Church officiating.

VISITATION: Sunday July 28, 2013,5-7 pm at the Funeral Home

BURIAL: Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell.

BIOGRAPHY: Betty was born September 9, 1927 in Clarendon to John and Pearl Rhodes. She grew up and graduated from Clarendon High School in 1945. Betty married Jack McElroy on September 5, 1956 and shortly thereafter moved to Amarillo where she was a banker and homemaker. Mrs. McElroy loved her family and took great joy in her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to Odyssey Hospice and the Wellington Care Center for their loving support and help with Betty.

PRECEDED: her parents, her husband Jack, 6 sisters, Mattie, Jewel, Irene, Ailene, Ruth and Dorothy

SURIVIORS: 2 sons, Monty McElroy and wife Cecile of Amarillo and Randy McElroy and wife Dana of Bay City; a daughter, Jacklyn Ellis and husband James of Wellington; a sister, Johnnie Adamson of Bakersfield, CA

7 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren.
