Boyd was born on June 2, 1956, in Borger, Texas, to Boyd Lemons Sr. and Glenna Lemons. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1974 and began his strong work ethic early, starting at Metro Nunn Manufacturing at just 16 years old. In 1975, Boyd married Barbara Mills, and together they had two children, Misty and Brandon. Though they later divorced in 1982, Boyd’s dedication to his family remained constant. He was also the proud father of a third son, Jason Radloff. After the closure of Metro Nunn Manufacturing, Boyd went on to work for Sears before finding a long-term career with R&L Carriers, where he remained until his retirement at the age of 65. For the past 10 years, Boyd shared his life with his loving companion, Connie Hill, who is also Jason’s mother. Boyd found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved working on cars, fishing, and grilling with his family, always creating lasting memories. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren, as well as his great-nieces and nephews. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching wrestling, football, and classic westerns. Known for his hardworking spirit and generous heart, Boyd was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His loyal companion, his dog Presley, was never far from his side.
Boyd is survived by his sons; Jason Radloff, Brandon Lemons and Melissa, daughter; Misty Reeves and husband Justin Reeves, great niece, Melody Tackett, great nephews; Kayden Martin, Lane Tackett (affectionately known as Dot Dot), niece; Natasha Tackett and husband Jonathan, sister Cindy Thorn, 5 grandchildren; Atlas Taylor, Melanie Applegate husband Hunter, Matthew Taylor, James Lemons, Breanna Standridge (Bre), great-grandchildren; Kayden Lemons, Lakelynn Applegate, and Kayson Lemons.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Boyd E. Lemons Sr. and Glenna G. Lemons and one sister; Beverly Elaine Lemons.
Boyd will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
