Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Home Pioneer Chapel.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell.
Dena Bess Young was born June 2, 1938 in Wellington to Johnnie Felix Moore and Taylor Moore. She graduated from Hereford High School and attended cosmetology school. Dena owned a hair salon for many years before returning to school to receive a teacher’s certificate. After retirement she opened up a daycare and spent all her time with her grandchildren. Dena loved to dance, going out with friends and enjoying her life. In loving memory of a beautiful woman and soul who was an amazing mother, grandmother, caregiver and friend. She had a life full of excitement and joy and will always be cherished in our hearts.
Dena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Johnnie C. Young; and siblings, Zach Moore and Johnny Catherine Funderberg
Dena is survived by her children, Debra Berg, Sammy Grider, Mitchell Grider, Johnna Young and Johnny Young; siblings, Marie Steel, Taylor Moore, Jr., and Bobbie Conrad; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
