Dorothy Burgess,83,of Amarillo died Monday,Nov.5,2012. Services will be at 2 p.m.Wednesday in Second Baptist Church with the Rev.Wayne Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.Dorothy was born June 13,1929, in Guy, Ark., to John and Myrtle Battles. She married

Ray Burgess on Dec. 5,1944, in Wooster, Ark. Dorothy was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Ray; three children, Barbara Slattery, Eddie and wife Renee Burgess and Donna Arney and husband Dennis, all of Amarillo; three

sisters, Onita Hart of Conway, Ark., Johnnie Stanton of Amarillo and Daisy Hart of Greenbrier, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Nona Ford of Wooster, Ark.; her grandchildren, Wendi Moffett and husband Daniel of Littleton, Colo., Mandy Hagee and husbsand Miles of Woodward, Okla., and Jason Burgess and wife Brittany and Kela Arney, all of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Ella Moffett.
