A celebration of Dwayne’s life will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40; with Pastor Jerry Davey presiding. Inurnment will take place on Friday December 14, 2018 at New Herman Cemetery in Leedey, Oklahoma.
Dwayne was born on September 05, 1939 in Leedey, Oklahoma to Brackston “Lee” and Della Yarbrough. As a young boy, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended Sayre High School where he played trumpet in the band. He would join the United States Air Force later in life and faithfully serve his country from 1959 to 1978, retiring as a TSGT from Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He then moved to Amarillo to be closer to his parents who resided in Perryton. His favorite pass times in his later years were photography, cars, and a CB Club, often participating in road rallies with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Brackston and Della, sister Linda Bryan, nephew Drue Head, spouse Marry “Terry” Yarbrough, spouse Carolyn Yarbrough, brother-in-law Gene Head, and great nephew Trevin Head. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister Beverly Head, son James Terry Yarbrough, daughters Della Marie Koenig, Janelle Ann Johnson, and Lynn Michelle Thompson and husband Alan; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
