

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday January 17, 2015 in Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Brown officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.
Eleanor Mae Phillips, 88, a resident of Amarillo since 2005, died Jan. 9, 2015, at the home of her daughter. Eleanor and Jack were married on Feb. 27, 1949, in Great Falls, Mont. Eleanor and husband Jack traveled while serving in the Air Force living in Montana, Florida, Chateauroux, France, and Albuquerque, N.M.
Eleanor was able to work as a stay-at-home mom and volunteered for many positions at her churches. She was member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque before transferring her membership to Westminster Presbyterian in Amarillo upon her move to Amarillo. She was active in Sun Porch Sunday school class, Tuesday Women’s Bible Study and Sarah Bowen circle at Westminster Presbyterian.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jack W. Phillips, in 2001.
Survivors include her children, Nedra Swenson and husband Chris and Thomas G. Phillips and wife Cherrii; her grandchildren, Tressa Browder and husband Larry, Carina Swenson, Jennifer Masters and husband Jacob and Carrie Palacios and husband John; her great-grandchildren, Dakota Dunn, Adrian Palacios, Elise Palacios, Issac Palacios and Tara, Ellie Masters and Jadie Masters; and her nephews, Jack Dragon and James Dragon and wife Lois.
The family suggests memorials be to Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
