

Euna was born December 16, 1922 in Hollis, Oklahoma to John and Callie Cary.
She was raised and attended high school in Littlefield, Texas. Euna married James E. Foust in Clovis, New Mexico in 1938. They lived in Tahoka, Texas from 1947 until 1952 where Euna and James built a home and ran a small business to augment James’s teaching job income. They moved to Amarillo in 1954 where they established The Grand Variety Store on Grand Street and operated the business for 23 years. Euna was well known and loved by her customers. She was often called the “dime store lady” by many of the children who frequented the store. Euna and James worked long hours in the business and raised two sons: Jim and Eddie. Euna was active in the North Amarillo Church of Christ and later the Central Church of Christ. She loved bowling and was active in league bowling for a number of years. Euna embraced bird watching during her retirement years and spent many happy hours watching the various species of birds in her back yard.
Survivors include her son Jim Foust of Unionville, Connecticut; granddaughter Allison Foust of Los Angeles, California; grandson Paul Foust and his wife Alicia and great grandson Edward all of Lubbock; brother Dennis Cary of Arriel, Washington; and companion Don Patton of Amarillo. Euna was predeceased by her husband, James E.Foust and her son Eddie in 1976.
The family suggests memorial donations be sent to the Salvation Army in Amarillo or to a charity of choice.
