

Freddie J. Ray was born July 3, 1935 in Levelland, Texas. He married Della May Jackson of Clarendon on February 7, 1958. Freddie served in the U. S. Army from March 1958 until March 1960. He spent his career working as Superintendent of Roads with companies Cooper & Woodruff and DePaw and retired in 2000 from J. Lee Milligan. He received an accommodation in 1989 by Texas State Department in recognition of exemplary cooperation and performance in the construction of Loop 335 Randall County. His greatest joy was to fish, hunt and garden. Most of all he adored “man’s best friend” “Sugar and Spice.”
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Clyde and Maxine Ray of Levelland, a brother Harold Ray also of Levelland and his lovely wife Della.
Freddie and Della had two children, a son, Toby J. Ray of Amarillo and his wife Karen and a daughter, Cathy Delaine Outman and husband Steve of Amarillo. Mr. Ray had 5 grandchildren all of Amarillo, Mandi Scheetz, Misty Magouirk and her spouse Shaun, Stacey Bybee and spouse Steve, Jayson Gattis and Bennett Ray. He also had 7 – Great-Grandchildren. 2 Sisters, Shirley Head of Lubbock and Becky Keen of Levelland. Freddie had many nieces and nephews and family and friends whom he loved.
