Gerald D Brewer

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Owen Young.

Mr. Brewer grew up in Vicksburg, MS. He was born April 23, 1943, to Curtis and Elsie Brewer. He married Rita Smith on Sept. 2, 1967. They had a daughter, Stephanie Brewer Jozefowicz, on Sept. 24, 1972.

Gerald graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education and a master's degree in education with administrative certification. He taught math and was an administrative assistant principal at Bowie Junior High and Middle School and at Fannin Middle School. He served as the principal at Rolling Hills Elementary School to wind up a 36-year career in education.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara McCaa.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of Amarillo; a daughter, Dr. Stephanie Jozefowicz and husband Dr. James Jozefowicz of Indiana, Pa.; a granddaughter, Abigail Jozefowicz of Indiana, PA; and three siblings, Curtis Brewer, Earl Brewer, and Donna Moulder, all of Vicksburg, MS.

The family suggests memorials be to Rociada Baptist Church, P.O. Box 747, Rociada, NM 87742; or Show Hope, P.O. Box 647, Franklin, TN 37065.
