

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with Dr. Stanley I. Adelman officiating.
Henry Saxe was born on February 11, 1934 in Amarillo to Maurece and William Saxe. He attended Exeter Prep School, Amarillo High School(’52) and Tulane University.. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas University and his Masters degree from the University of Chicago. Henry served three years as a Russian linguist for the Army Security Agency, serving in Japan. He married Linda Pope in 1961 in Lubbock and worked for the American Chemical Society and Kraft Food Resource and Development before returning to the American Chemical Society from which he later retired. Henry and Linda lived in Chicago, Northern Virginia, Tulupa, Mexico and Amarillo. The couple raised and showed Scottish Terriers, Following Linda’s death in 2004, Henry continued his love of symphony, opera, poker and baseball.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Linda, and a sister, Charlotte Oppenheimer of Castro Valley, California.
Henry is survived by a daughter, Susan Saxe and husband Eric Kenburg of New York City; a sister, Mimi Giles of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Dr. Steven Oppenheimer of Castro Valley, Ca; a nephew, Dr. Dan Oppenheimer and wife Sarah of Castro Valley; a niece, Laura Oppenheimer and husband Lauren Carlier of Brussels Belgium; a nephew, Scott Horowitz and wife Jeanette of Clifton Park, N.Y.; seven great nieces and nephews and a beloved friend, Elayne Shults.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to A.S.P.C.A.
