Henry was born April 27, 1926 in Breckenridge to James and Nettie Martin. He was a dedicated Christian and faithful to his church and God. He married his first wife Lawana Hill on January 19, 1945 they shared 571/2 years of marriage. He married his second wife Pat Hill Stewart on August 10, 2003. He was the glue that kept his family together. Over the years he was a Deacon, Trustee and a song leader along with working with the bus ministry for his church. He enjoyed going camping and fishing he always enjoyed a good fish fry at the lake! He worked as a superintendent for Novak Construction in Amarillo for 37 years, as a superintendent for L.A. Fuller and Sons Construction for 13 years. He retired in 2001 at the age of 74. He was a workaholic and high energy who was always busy with some kind of project. He ran a pumpkin patch on the Western Plaza parking lot for twelve years with his family; he loved helping kids pick out their pumpkins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Lawana; a son Thomas Henry Martin; sister Jewel Noggle, and two brothers Ernest and Sam Martin.
He is survived by his wife Pat; daughter Joanna Dennis and husband Chess of Amarillo, grandson Tomas Kevin Martin of Amarillo. granddaughter Crystal Oren and husband Greg two great granddaughters Madison and Lilly of Erik OK. A granddaughter Alice Mize and husband Sean, granddaughter Elliana Mize and two great grandsons Jeremiah Henry Mize and Ezekiel Thomas Mize of Edmond OK.
Four stepdaughters Brenda Parker, Linda Richey, Cindy Rankin and husband Scott , Norma Dees and husband Larry all of Tulsa, OK. Seven step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Arizona.
