John married Evanelle Parmer in 1959 at Pampa, Texas. He served his country in both the Oklahoma National Guard and in the United States Army. John worked in the printing industry in the Amarillo area for over 30 years. He was an active member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church and the Covenant Sunday School Class for 50 years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete, going fishing and was an avid golfer who shot six verified hole-in-ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. and Eva Hart; one sister, Eva Jo Gentry, and 2 brothers, J.L. “Buddy” Hart, and Richard Hart.
John is survived by his wife, of Amarillo; daughter, Laura Hart Goodwin, of Houston; brother Ted Hart of Eatonton, Ga.; sister-in-law Jean Hart of Chickasaw, Ok.; 4 grandchildren Terris Goodwin Losoya and husband Isaias, of Temple, Tx; Loryn Goodwin of San Antonio; and Trampas “TJ” Goodwin Jr., and Jayden Goodwin of Houston; 2 great grandchildren, Josaias Losoya and Emmalyn Losoya, of Temple; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be made to the St. Stephen UMC Youth Fund or the Giving Hands Fund.
