Joseph Lane, 82 passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Lucas and Pastor Gerald Owens officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home. Joe “Pa” Lane was a longtime carpenter and a truck driver for McKesson Drug. Joe was an ordained deacon, retired treasurer, licensed preacher, Sunday school teacher and faithful member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. The greatest joys in Joe’s life were his family and doing for others. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Lane; sisters, Lois Watkins and Sylvia Estes; also by his parents, Hobart and Betty Lane. Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Lane of the home; daughter, Jamie Lane Tarr of Amarillo; grandson, Joseph King of Amarillo; sister, Charlene Johnson of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Marie of Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Bob of Florida and Jack of Oklahoma; also by a multitude of other family and friends. The family suggest in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to the Benevolence Fund of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5631 Pavillard Drive Amarillo, Texas 79108.
