Leigh Annette Bogue Smith passed away January 2, 2021 in Amarillo. She was born December 16, 1961 in Amarillo, Texas. She was a graduate from Dalhart High School, attended Amarillo College and she served her country in the United States Army.
Leigh had the kindest, sweetest spirit. She loved her children and family unconditionally. She enjoyed watching movies and listening to music. She was generous. Her strong suit was searching for that perfect gift to give family and friends. She wanted everyone to feel special. Her faith was extremely important to her. It radiated from her sweet smile and she wanted everyone to know the love of God. After many years apart, she reconnected with the love of her life, Dean Smith, and they were happily married until her death. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family is requesting donations to be sent to The Downtown Women’s Center of Amarillo.
She is preceded in death by her parents Roy Bogue Sr and wife Ann, Betty Langford and husband W.C., and a sister Phaedra Langford.
She is survived by her loving husband Dean Smith; her children John Allan Benson Jr and Ashleigh MacTaggart; siblings Beth Perkins and Roy Lee Bogue Jr ; grandchildren Caden O’Brien and Adleigh Benson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
