Sallie Lois Johnson was called home to Heaven on July 29, 2019. This loving, joyous and caring lady was daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to a huge and loving family, and this tribute to her will not do justice to the great love that the Lord blessed all of us with through her.
A gathering of family and friends will take place in the Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday, August 04, 2019. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 05, 2019 at 2pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2901 Martin Rd. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sallie was born on October 30, 1927 to Onis Leroy Carter and Sallie Swindell Carter in Coalgate, Coal County, Oklahoma. She was the second of five living children: Rachel Louise Carter, T.J. Carter, Patsy Ruth Carter, and Wilma Jean Carter.
Lois married Ralph Johnson on June 5, 1948 in Clarendon, Texas. He passed away January 8, 2010. She is survived by her two sons: Tommy Wayne Johnson of Tucumcari, New Mexico , Jerry Payne Johnson of Wolfforth, Texas and a daughter, Donna Louise Johnson of Ore City, Texas. She left a legacy of love with many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members too numerous to mention by name.
Lois was full of energy most of her life, serving God in her Baptist Church, serving her family and caring for everyone she met with a smile and a laugh. She loved to read the Bible, but she also loved to read romances and magazines. She loved to visit with anyone who came to the house and her favorite times were those spent with her family.
While she will be greatly missed, it is a joy to know that she is now reunited with the Lord, enjoying Heaven with Ralph, her parents, her brother T.J., and her great granddaughter Jayden, and all her other family members in Heaven.
