Mamie is one of 8 children who have all passed from this life. She married Richard Solomon in November 1941. They eventually moved to Amarillo TX and together they had 4 children. Richard worked for Tradewind Airport and Mamie was executive secretary at Westminster Presbyterian Church. They both retired in 1979 and began traveling with their trailer. They eventually bought an Airstream trailer and helped start and organize a trailer group called The Wheels-A-Go Go.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband Richard, oldest daughter Georgene Mott and her youngest daughter Eloise Steinman. She is survived by her oldest son Dick Solomon of Irving, TX and her younger son Walter Solomon and wife Mary of Lake Tanglewood. She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mamie had a scholarship fund established in her name at Amarillo College and in lieu of flowers, donations to the scholarship fund would be appreciated.
