Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Pastor Ivan Moncayo officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
Marcelina was born April 26, 1938, in Yorktown to Leonardo Chavez and Maria Banda. She loved dancing, going to casinos, working and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Maria Banda; and a brother, Leonardo Chavez.
Survivors include eight children, Elodia Moncayo and husband Salvador of California, Irma Ortiz of Amarillo, Alex Martinez and wife Rose Mary of Amarillo, Diana Martinez of Amarillo, Bobby Martinez and wife Sylvia of Vernon, Becky Martinez of Amarillo, Leo Martinez and wife Nancy of Amarillo and Dalia Alfaro and husband David of Amarillo; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home
