Marilyn Schmidt

Marilyn was born on May 23, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas to JB and Juanita Davis. She passed away peacefully on March 26, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1967 and from Northwest Texas Nursing School in 1970. She married Tommy Schmidt in 1971 and they had three children. Marilyn worked for many years as an orthopedic nurse at NWTH and then as a home heath nurse serving patients all over the Texas Panhandle. Marilyn grew up in Amarillo and then lived in Vega, Dumas and Amarillo. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Amarillo for most of her life. Her passion was nursing, her children, and especially her grandchildren. She dearly loved to serve others and would gladly do anything for anyone in need. Memorials and tributes be given to the West Texas Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her mother and father: James Blaine Davis 1982 and Juanita Davis 2009, and by her brother Jim Davis in 1996.

She is survived by two sons and their families: Chad Schmidt and Kellie Schmidt of Spring, TX and Ty and Amy Schmidt (Eagle, NE), one daughter Tobi Schmidt of (Cordell, OK). A twin sister Carolyn (Mimi) Davis (Spring, TX). 5 grandchildren: Drew Schmidt and Family (Clinton, OK), Zachary Schmidt, Paige Schmidt, James Schmidt (Eagle, NE), and Charlee Schmidt (Eagle, NE),one great grandchild Adam Schmidt(Cordell, OK).
