Marvin was born in Mangum, Oklahoma. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He married Maye Sossaman in July, 1941. . He was a machinist for Phillips Petroleum and Pantex where he retired. Preceded in death by his wife Maye in 1996 and a son Curtiss Long in 2007.
