

Mary Ann Brocchus Basinger was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Robert and Katherine Brocchus. She met and married the love of her life, Ray Edward Basinger, on Aug. 26, 1955; they were married 60 wonderful years.
She worked at Diamond Shamrock for more than 25 years. Family was very important to Mary Ann; she enjoyed going to the mountain and spending time with them.
She liked playing cards and was considered a master bridge player by her bridge family. She loved going shopping and being around people. She was an avid sports fan; her favorite sports teams were the Dallas
Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. She enjoyed listening to her favorite singer Elvis Presley.
Mary Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Brocchus; a sister, Katherine Louise Goldtrap; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Basinger.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Basinger of Amarillo; her mother, Katherine Gebhart of Little Rock Ark.; a daughter, Becky Chapman and husband Richard; a son, Kenney Basinger and wife Juli; a brother, Robert Brocchus Jr. and wife Nina of Jacksonville Ark.; her grandchildren, Kristi ,Katie, Bradley and wife Ashley, Collin, Grant and Haley; a great-grandson, Derrick; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and her beloved cats, Cowboy and Callie.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Saint Paul United Methodist Church Youth Ministry or First United Methodist Men of Tulia.
