

Mary was born November 22, 1929, the first daughter of Joseph and Gladys (Carper) Elwood at Red Oak, Iowa. She had a happy childhood, living on a farm with her parents, 8 brothers and 3 sisters. After graduating high school in Elliott, Iowa in 1947, she went to secretarial school in Kansas City, Missouri, and was later employed by Western Union. She married Morris B. Kille on November 11, 1951 in Kansas City, and they later moved to Richmond, VA, Maryville, TN, Pampa, TX and Dumas, TX. Mary was a lifelong and active member of the Methodist Church. She worked with United Methodist Women and served as president for several terms. She sang in the church choir, which was directed by her husband. She loved children and taught Sunday School for many years. In the 1980's she served as the director of activities for the Moore County Senior Center in Dumas Texas. Mary's life revolved around her family and friends, and she loved them dearly all her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers Bill, Joseph Jr, Robert, Ira, Dale, Warren, Ed and her sister Linda. And many in-laws that were special to her.
She is survived by her four children: Stephen, Kathleen, James and Morris Jr., grandchildren: Sho Jen, Vincent Casey, Mika Kille and two great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three siblings: Gordon, Jean and Judith, and many in-laws that she loved dearly.
