Mary Laura Staggs, 72, died January 13. 2022. FuneraL service will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 with Dr. Hal Rogers officiating, at Griggs Schooler Gordon Chapel, 5400 Bell. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m.
She was born January 4, 1950 to Robert “Bob” & Lydia Johnson of Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School and began her career as a bookkeeper here in Amarillo. Mary was married to Ron Staggs in Clovis, NM and they started their lives in Amarillo, Texas, where they had their only son Robby Staggs. Mary & Ron moved to Dallas for 2 years, but came back to Amarillo, Texas where they have lived ever since. She had a career in Bookkeeping and worked for a few large companies in Amarillo. Mary was a good cook and shared her love of food with her son Robby. She liked to go to the lake with the family.
Mary is preceded in death by her father Robert “Bob” Johnson & her mother Lydia Johnson.
Mary is survived by her husband Ron Staggs, her son Robby Staggs and wife Jennifer Staggs, of Amarillo, her sister, Susan Coffman and husband Lee Coffman.
