Maxine “Mickey” Lemons Certain, 88 of Amarillo passed away December 26, 2016. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ron Alton officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Maxine "Mickey" Lemons Certain passed away after a lengthy illness on December 26, 2016 in Austin Texas. She was born on April 20, 1928 to Ray and Juanita Lemons in Amarillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Judy Poe of Estes Park, CO, Mary Lou Stewart and Arlene Bird of Amarillo TX, and father of her children Bob Certain of Monroe, LA. Mickey Certain was a resident of West Monroe, LA for over 50 years. She was a custom decorator for JC Penny for over 25 years. After her retirement, she served as a volunteer "Red Coat Lady" at the Glenwood Medical Mall for 8 years. She is survived by her daughter Dana Barnes and husband Glenn of Austin, TX, son Scott Certain of West Monroe, La, and grandchildren Robby Barnes and wife Lisa of Katy TX, Brandon Barnes of Austin Tx, Lisa Certain and Corbin Certain of West Monroe, LA. Sisters Linda Weaver and husband Ron of Richmond, TX and Faye Nell Alton and husband Ron and Ginger McCartor and husband Jimmy of Amarillo, TX and numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "The Queen".
