Mildred "Midge" Cornelius

Mildred Ann “Midge” Cornelius went to with her Lord and Savior on February 10, 2018. Midge was born on November 16, 1926 to Benjamin and Vadie Timmons. She played softball and basketball in her younger years and graduated from Amarillo High School. She met and married the love of her life Lindsey Theo Cornelius and they had two natural children and three step children. Midge loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren they were the apple of her eye. She enjoyed needlepoint and watching the Texas Rangers. Midge never told anyone “no” and was always there when she was needed. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church for many years. She worked for Potter County Tax office and retired in 1982. Memorials can be made in her honor to Kidney Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her son Timothy Ty Cornelius, her step children John Anthony, Cheryl Lynn and her siblings Bonnyea Anderson, Peggy Fulton, Juanita Lundbeck, Ida Bell Powell, and Cecil Timmons.

She is survived by her children Bill Cornelius and wife Linda, Becky Carothers and husband Mike, grandchildren Clayton Cornelius and wife Paige, Timothy Carothers and Nina, Melissa Evenson and husband Rob, Wesley Cornelius and Ashley Renee and Amanda Carothers along with eight great-grandchildren.
