Mildred Ellouine Stadler, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the age of 91, surrounded by her entire family. She was born on June 29, 1931, to Ora Grace & Lisle (Granny & Papa) Hunter in Houston, TX. On February 10, 1950; she married the love of her life, John W. Stadler "Johnny," and together they raised four sons. Whether you knew them as Mom & Dad, Mr. & Mrs. Stadler, Grandad & Grammy or Johnny & Ellouine, you always knew that there was an open door, open arms, a second (or 3rd or 4th) chance, and something sweet to eat!
Ellouine was a woman of unwavering faith, deep compassion, and boundless love. Her family will always remember her for her unconditional love, her capacity for forgiveness, and her humility. She never sought perfection or held grudges, instead choosing to focus on the good in others and extend grace to those around her. No matter what season of life, she had a heart for serving others often in unseen ways. She was never judgmental and always saw the best in people. Her family and friends will always remember her for living out God's word with every action and word, and for being a shining example of kindness, love, and grace.
“Well done, good and faithful servant…” -Matthew 25.23
Her legacy is carried on by her four sons and daughter-in-laws, John & Jenny, Mike & Laney, David & Rhonda, and Darrell & Ann, 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, sister & brother-in-law Kay & Joe Toole, and an array of extended family and friends from every walk of life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Granny and Papa Hunter, her husband Johnny, brother Buddy Hunter, sister Carol Hunter Withrow, and grandson Joshua Scott Stadler.
