Monica "Mo" Word, 53, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010.Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Davey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.Monica was born Sept. 12, 1956, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was a critical care registered nurse at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1974, Amarillo College in 1993, and West Texas A&M University in 1996. She married Michael Joe Word on June 30, 2000.Survivors include her husband, Michael Joe Word; her mother, Cynthia Nutter; five daughters, Brandi Durrett, Britani Huff, Michelle Bennett, Tisha Word and Tonia Word; two sons, Bobby Huff Jr., and Michael Word; 15 grandchildren, Tyler, Haley, Skylar, Harlan, Destiny, Hope, Michael, Christopher, Daniel, MaShonda, Autumn, Jordan, Jeremy, Joshua and Janie; a brother, Tommy Cannon Jr.; a sister, Celine Walker; a niece; and a great-niece.The family suggests memorials be to Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.Leave online condolences at www.mem.com.Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 1, 2010
