Robert I. Sherwood

VISITATION will be Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Davey officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East.

Robert was born on Nov. 3, 1939 to Litha and Margaret Sherwood in Memphis, TN. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Josette Russell on Dec. 4, 1970, in Clovis, NM. Robert was a great Country & Western disc jockey in the 80's & 90's, hosting the "Sherwood Oldie Show" on KMML and sister station KDJW. Robert was also a wonderful artist in oils, watercolors and pencil. Robert was an amazing husband and father.

Roert was preceded in death by his wife; mother and father; a brother Joe and a sister Margie.

He is survived by two daughters; Sandrena Meyer and husband Butch of Lubbock; Michelle Sherwood Smith and husband Sean of Dallas; a son Craig and wife Starla of La Vergne, TN. Two sisters Carol and Diane and a brother Larry. 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Hope Lodge Lubbock of the American Cancer Society , 3511 10th Street, Lubbock, TX, 79415
