Rock D'Armond Wakefield

December 2, 2022 at the age of 69. Rock was born September 22, 1953 to Hays and June Wakefield. He grew up in Amarillo, where he later graduated from Tascosa High School. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer for over 40 years. He was a talented guitar player and an avid collector. He brought many people laughter and great joy with his big personality and sense of humor. Rock’s charisma was unequaled. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Pick with Austin a local charity that helps to provide guitars and music equipment to children and teens who suffer from mental health.

He is preceded in death by his father Hays Wakefield, his oldest son Chad Wakefield; his grandmother

Jewel Wakefield and his step-mother Jackie Wakefield.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother June Hart; his children: son Quincy Wakefield, oldest daughter

Khaki Wakefield; youngest daughter Tennessee Scanio and husband Joseph, his half-brother Derek

Wakefield. Grandchildren: Cash, Kyan, Kasyn, Kamdyn, Charlie, Vivian and Colette along with his dear

friend Mary Freeman.

A memorial service is being held to celebrate his life on December 17, 2022 at 2pm at

Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home located at 5400 Bell Street in Amarillo, TX 79109
