He was born April 2,1953 in Borger, Texas to Ernest and Ruette Parkhurst.
Ronald grew up in Borger, attending Borger High School graduating in 1971. After graduating from high school, he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He lived most of his life in Borger, working at Carbon Black Companies. In 2007, he moved to Weatherford, Texas, with a promotion from Sid Richardson Carbon Co. as a director of Corporate Logistics until his retirement in 2020. Ronnie and Lisa moved back to Amarillo in May 2024, they wanted to be closer to their children and families. He enjoyed spending his time with the grandkids and his entire family. Ronnie loved his cats, spending as much time as he could with them. He was a member of the Fort Worth Astronomy Club and enjoyed watching the stars and planets with his telescopes. He loved being outdoors and playing golf. After years of study he was able to help others pair the perfect wine to complement their meals so they could enhance their overall dining experience. After much study he completed the Level 1- Court of Master Sommeliers. He also enjoyed traveling with his family.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife; Lisa Parkhurst, two sons; Joel Parkhurst and wife Amber of Amarillo, Jeff Parkhurst and wife Amber of Borger, daughter; Elizabeth Winks and husband Gary of Borger, and two grandchildren; Kara Parkhurst and Noah Parkhurst of Amarillo.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and Ruette Parkhurst.
Ronald will be missed by both his family and friends.
