Roxie was born on November 22, 1943 to Perry Fish and Arvie Loraine Morton in Sayre, Oklahoma. She moved to Amarillo in 1957 and attended school at Horace Mann. Roxie married Stanley Broyles on November 21, 1970 and together, they shared over 53 years of marriage. Roxie was an avid lover of horses and music of all sorts, but especially Elvis Presley, Lionel Richie, Culture Club and the great Tina Turner. She was also very passionate about genealogy. Her and Stanley were known for being the family historians and were able to trace down over 200,000 cousins. Roxie also had a beautiful voice and she loved to sing and to play the guitar. Although she held the title of Champion Powder Puff on the dirt track, she never took any sass and the other drivers never stood a chance against her.
Roxie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Patsy Varnell, Virginia Reed, and Lauwiona Ford; and her brother, Stanley Fish.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband, Stanley Broyles, of Amarillo; her son, Robert Hendrix and wife, Robin, of North Carolina; her daughter, Brandy Savidge and husband, Dean, of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brother, JW Fish; her grandchildren, Stormie Savidge, Willow Savidge, Robin Boyer, Jason Hendrix, and TJ Cagle; and a host of other extended family members and friends who will all miss her greatly.
