Ruth Goodson

Ruth Elma Goodson passed away December 12, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Ruth was born October 6, 1932 in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas to Dave and Pearl Miller. She married Bill Goodson in 1950, the young couple settled in Amarillo in 1959 with their three children. Ruth loved spending time with her family, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed any adventure, made the best of any disappointment, and brightened every room she entered. Ruth also loved the outdoors, traveling, camping, shopping, and funny stories. She proudly worked at Bivins Memorial Nursing home for 45 years as a dietary aide. Ruth was a wonderfully pleasant and kind woman who always saw the good in everything and everyone. Ruth will be dearly missed.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Dave and Pearl; her husband Bill; two brothers, Calvin and Ivan; and a sister, Retha.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Letta Day, Greg Goodson, and Anga Corpus. Her brother Ray Miller and Wife Fay; grandchildren Billy Goodson, Justin Day, Lukas Day, and Tiffani Crosley; six great grandchildren and many other dear friends and relatives.
