Wanda Joy Stringer was born December 1, 1928 in rural Wheeler County, Texas where she graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1946. Wanda married Kenneth E. Stringer in 1948 and they settled in Amarillo in 1951. With an extensive knowledge of Texas Panhandle history, Wanda particularly loved the Adobe Walls and Mobeetie areas. She also loved English Literature, poetry, architecture and flower gardening. Above all, Wanda was a true testament of her faith and love of God. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, brother and step-brother. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Zierott and husband Charles, granddaughter Melissa M. Ladd, all of Nebraska. Step-sister Joy Thompson, step-brother Ed Coe; sister-in-law Ruth Cantrell; niece Diana Mae Wiginton; nephew Jerry Cantrell, great nieces and nephews, all of Texas, and special life-long friend LaRue Pierce and Wanda's sisters in Christ, Temple Baptist Church.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family at 29914 Mill Rd. Murdock, NE 68407, to be equally divided between Wanda's favorite charities and her church.
