Sonny was born May 18, 1933 to J.C. and Stella Lowery in Mound, Texas. He served his country in the Army from 1953-1956 serving in the Korean War. Sonny married Janetta Liston in 1981. He enjoyed gardening, playing slot machines and dancing. Sonny was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan, whether it was watching or attending the games. He was a truck driver and a self-proclaimed handyman and was always on the move. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Washington Ave Christian Church or Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
He was preceded in death by his parents J.C and Stella Lowery; Daughter: Pamela Oldham; 2 Brothers: Robert and Lynn Lowery.
He is survived by his wife Janetta Lowery; Sons William “Skeet” Howard Lowery Jr. and wife Dianne, Rickey Lowery and wife Dana all of Amarillo; Brothers Jack Lowery of Georgetown, Texas and Davis Lowery and wife Glenda of Amarillo; 10 Grandchildren and 9 great-Grandchildren.
