William R. (Bill) Thomas, 79, of Amarillo passed away July 8, 2021. He was born April 9, 1942 to Leonard and Alice Thomas in Stoneman, MA. Bill married Paulette Tomsu, October 8, 1994, was in the Air Force for 21 years, and was a Metallurgist for Allied Signal/Honeywell. He enjoyed going to sprint car races following the World of Outlaws in the late 90’s and Arizona Sprint car racing for many years. He loved traveling with his wife to Europe and many places in the U.S. as well as music, especially contemporary Jazz, listening to it first thing every Sunday morning. He is survived by his wife Paulette of the home, Children: Micha King of Cincinnati OH, Sonya Carrasco of Amarillo TX, William Thomas II of Phoenix AZ, Derrick King of Claremore OK, Mark Thomas of Phoenix AZ, a special adopted daughter Joy Furbacher of Phoenix AZ and a very special niece Stacey Duffy of Phoenix AZ., Grandchildren; Tyson, Jade, Brice, Nicole, Travis, Zac, Brittney, Kyle, Anastasia & two bonus granddaughters Jenna and Abbie, Great grandchildren; Dean, Aubrey and Caiden. The family wants to give special thanks to BSA Hospice/Olivia’s Angels for the exceptional care and support provided the last week of his life.
