GOULD - Kay M. Kay was born on June 23, 1939 and wanted to live to be 149. She died suddenly on January 19, 2015. She was the adopted daughter of the late Lena and James Gould; beloved sister of the late Jerry (Joyce) Gould; loving aunt of James Gould of California and proud great-aunt of his daughter; survived by devoted friends, Maggie (her dog), Joyce Haskell, Martha Zimmermann, her caring neighbors, her lunch buddies Rosela Digesare, Jan Jarmuz, Mary Mayerat and Linda Lee, and so many others whose life she touched. Kay was employed by Bell Telephone while she was in college as a switchboard operator. Her career spanned over 30 years, retiring in 1989 as a supervisor from Verizon Telephone. After her retirement, she began a lawn mowing business and was intending to mow lawns this summer. She was an avid volunteer at local nursing homes, often times with her best pal Maggie. She visited with people from St. Amelia's (Outreach Office) who were members of the church. Kay was a dedicated animal lover and a supporter of the SPCA, among other animal care agencies. She was also an avid tent camper who loved to cook eggs on the grill for breakfast. She spent many of her weekends in the great outdoors. She was a gardener as well, planting a variety of flowers in her yard each year. There is a special place in Heaven just for her. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the DENGLER, ROBERTS, PERNA FUNERAL HOME, 2070 Eggert Rd. near Niagara Falls Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday from St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Rd., Tonawanda, at 11:30 AM.
