Dorothy Louise Leake

Dorothy was born in Downs, Illinois on November 13, 1928 to William Martin Oliver and Nell Fisher Oliver. She grew up in the Cooksville and Lexington, Illinois area and in 1946 graduated from High School in Lexington. After graduation, she worked for State Farm Insurance.

Dorothy and George Leake were married, November 26, 1947 in the Holy Trinity Church in Bloomington, IL. In 1957, George, Dorothy and family moved to Lakewood, CA due to George’s job transfer, then to Cypress in 1964. Dorothy worked at Midwest Rubber in Paramount, CA as a Payroll Clerk, then for Hunt Wesson Foods/Conagra Foods in Fullerton, CA which she retired after more than 20 years.

Those who knew Dorothy will always remember and cherish her kindness love of gardening and great sense of fashion. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, George Leake, sons Ronald L. Leake (Stanton, CA), Gregory A. Leake and wife Linda (Holmen, WI), and daughter Georgann Brown (Garden Grove, CA). Also, sister Jane Shifflet (Spring Green, WI), brother Wilber Oliver and his wife Faye (Normal, IL), brother Donald Oliver (Austin, TX), 3 grandchildren Lisa Brown, Amanda Leake, and Kara Leake and 2 great-grandsons Cole Pauley and Maxton Collins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister’s Wilma Hurwitz and Joanne Vincent, and parents William and Nell Oliver.

Committal Service will be held Tuesday, June 17th, at noon at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA.
